Theme 2019: The voice, Inside out
We, singers and speakers, have the only instrument that we cannot grasp and disassemble, because it is invisible in ourselves.
In the course of the previous centuries, this has led to misconceptions until a fairly recent past. With the latest scientific techniques, such as Dynamic MRI and video-kymography, our instrument becomes more and more visible and reveals its fascinating inner workings.
We are very proud to announce that Matthias Echternach, one of the greatest scientists of our time, in research with dynamic MRI, will be speaking at our 2019 symposium.
We will also focus on bringing out our emotions and imagination during performances.
The following dates are already fixed:
30 March 2019, Royal Conservatory of Antwerp (Desguinlei 25)
with, among others, Matthias Echternach as Keynote speaker and Ineke Vandoorn
Kunsthumaniora Antwerp (Karel Oomsstraat 24)
Morning: Tensegrity and the relation body and voice with Herlinde Wynants
Afternoon: Body Mapping (Body, mind and breathing) with Raf De Groote
